New York Strip Steak is a great lean beef option for the 21 Twenty-four hour period Gear up. Here are 3 ways to make New York Strip Steak at home on your grill, in your air fryer, or on your stovetop.


  • 2 Strip Steaks (about 8 oz each and at least 1.5 inches thick) Y'all tin can as well use Ribeye or Filet Mignon
  • coarse Kosher or sea salt
  • coarse basis black pepper
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salted butter or ghee

Grill

  1. Prep: 30 minutes prior to cooking, remove your steaks from the fridge, dry with a paper towel. Permit steaks to come to room temperature before grilling.
  2. Preheat grill on high.  Brush both sides of each steak with 1/2 tsp olive oil and flavour well with salt and pepper – really rub it in.
  3. When the grill is hot, place the steaks diagonally on the grill (remember 10 o'clock).  Melt for two-3 minutes. Next, turn the steak to  2 o'clock on the grill so you get those criss cross marks and allow steaks cook for an additional 2-three minutes.
  4. Flip and repeat on the other side. **This is for medium rare.  See notes beneath for more temperature info. Transfer the steaks to a plate and add 1/2 tsp of butter to each steak.  Permit steak remainder for five  minutes earlier slicing. Serve.

Stovetop | Oven

  1. Prep: xxx minutes prior to cooking, remove your steaks from the refrigerator, dry with a newspaper towel. Allow steaks to come to room temperature before cooking.
  2. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Heat a cast fe skillet over medium loftier heat until it is hot, but not smoking. (exist sure to take your vent fan on as I e'er manage to prepare off the smoke detector if I forget!)
  3. While the skillet is heating upward, brush both sides of each steak with 1/2 tsp olive oil and flavor well with table salt and pepper – actually rub it in.
  4. Place steaks into the hot skillet and cook for 2-three minutes, without turning to allow a nice sear. Turn the steaks with tongs and cook for another two-three minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and immediately place in the preheated oven.  Roast in the oven for another 4-7 minutes, or until the desired temperature is reached. (I practise nearly 5 minutes for medium rare)
  6. **Come across notes below for more temperature info. Transfer the steaks to a plate and add i/2 tsp of butter to each steak.  Let steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve.

Air Fryer (Or Mealthy CrispLid | Ninja Foodi)

  1. Prep: thirty minutes prior to cooking, remove your steaks from the refrigerator, dry with a newspaper towel. Allow steaks to come up to room temperature before air frying.
  2. Preheat Airfryer to 400 degrees. Brush both sides of each steak with one/2 tsp olive oil and season well with salt and pepper – actually rub it in.
  3. Place in your Air Fryer for 10 minutes, flipping halfway (this is for medium rare). Increment or decrease cooking fourth dimension as needed to reach ideal internal doneness.  **See notes below for more temperature info.
  4. Transfer the steaks to a plate and add 1/2 tsp of butter to each steak.  Permit steak remainder for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve.


Notes

**For a rare steak, cook to 125 degrees F, Medium Rare to 135 degrees F, Medium to 145 degrees F, Medium Well 155 degrees F, Well Washed to 160 degrees F.

21 Day Prepare: Slice steak and measure in red container.  Count as 1 RED, 1 TSP (per serving)
